Databases

The Clemson Collection was among the first entomological collections to begin databasing its holdings. In 1925 Franklin Sherman began cataloging species in South Carolina on 5 x 7 inch index cards. Ultimately over 11,000 cards were created. We will get those available to you soon. You'll find other databases below.

Reprint holdings

Browse through our ~11,000 reprints. The purpose of this project is to allow anyone interested to virtually browse the CUAC reprint folders and increase the likelihood of discovery of interesting material. Each museum’s reprint collection represents a unique and valuable resource, the ability to access another museum’s reprints can be just as valuable as the ability to access their specimens (hint, hint).

Photos of Residues (By-Catch)

We have begun photographing some of our sample residues (=leftovers after pulling out specimens of immediate interest). We'll be posting these here to facilitate browsing by researchers with different immediate interests. Samples are databased, so requests can be referenced by number. Interested folks are also encouraged to annotate the photos to show us just what they're interested in.
